Sadness of life

Let's just sum it up to say that it has been an emotional weekend, the equivalent of a huge rock hitting a little pond of water. I expect the ripples with carry for a long, long time before things start to quiet down again. Sadness will strike a life, and like everything else, it has to be turned with a conscious act, into something positive. Which is not easy at all.

A symbol of how we sometimes feel, this picture was shot on a deserted, tiny road in the countryside somewhere between Kiruna and Luleå. Really, smack-dab in the middle of nowhere!
As the ones close to us already know, there has been a great tragedy in the family. Vendela's father, Staffan, tragically passed away, and only two days after, his mother in turn also passed. A sorrow such as this cannot really be described and it is a great mystery of how to incorporate it into yourself, and yet life must go on. Somehow. We do our best to try to find the strength to carry on and sort the madness and chaos into order.

The hollowness of everyday life can and must be countered! I remember the man in Kiruna, as a symbol of what must not happen. And there are many others, walking around with a glazed look to their eyes, living their lives in a hollow fashion. Everyday becomes like the other with no distinction, the contrasts lost in monotony and repetition. We accept the challenge and will by force of will and perseverance turn life into something extra, something that evolves and entertains us, nourishes us and teaches us. I surmise that the challenge lies in the little things, so I will endeavor to make them the best I can! My little ones at home are enormously valuable to me, and it only stands to reason that I must do the best I can to care for them!

Svabensverk. Now with a deserted feeling after I have robbed it of some of it's best parts!
Which leads us to this weekend. A busy schedule, yes, but a time to recharge as well. One can easily get lost in the stream of events and just get pulled along by the river of time, but there is also the option of taking charge. On Friday, I have a photoshoot booked in Nyköping for a happy customer, a blast of the past! Then I throw myself in my faithful steed and drive on down to Skåne for a quick visit to my parents. Interestingly enough, they don't know about it yet. Then, on Saturday, there's a visit to a fantastic group of people (check out www.outdoorfitness.nu) for some glorious sweat. It's back to the chamber for a shower, then on to mystery location (as of yet) for a photoshoot with Johanna, visiting from the UK and Australia. I much appreciate her taking the time during her short two week stop-over, and it will be loads of fun! And finally, come Sunday, there's the Big Game! More on THAT topic later on!
